Taller de escritura de noviembre

Cuándo: Cada viernes de noviembre a las 14.00 

Dónde: En Gather Town

Este taller está dirigido a todos aquellos que quieren mejorar su escritura en distintos aspectos:

 Normativa: Ortografía, morfología y sintaxis, repetición léxica.

 Cohesión: Puntuación, nexus, verbos, orden de los elementos de la frase. 

Coherencia: Selección de la información, progresión de la información, estructura del texto, estructura del párrafo.

 Adecuación: Selección de la variedad, selección del registro.

 Durante 3 sesiones, podrás escribir sobre un tema de elección propia y seleccionar el género (argumentación, narración, descripción, instrucción, diario personal, exposición sobre un tema). En cada taller vas a entrevistarte con el profesor sobre lo que vas escribiendo e ir pasando del boceto o borrador al texto final.

Language Tandem: Deutsch-English

Duration: 50 minutes per week

Time: Wednesday, 15-15.50, on Zoom

You will partner with a native speaker of the language you are learning and you will chat for 25 minutes in German and for 25 minutes in English. 

Relevant topics are chosen based on the interests of the group. 

Possible topics include:

Differences and similarities between Ireland and Germany, e.g. the university system, food, holidays, societal attitudes etc.

A great opportunity to practise your spoken language in a relaxed and informal way!

 

MURDER MYSTERY EVENT

→ Only on Thursday the 28^th of October at 5pm on GT (Lounge)

Somebody has been killed! Try to discover who is the murderer. The crime scene reunites police and people from France, Germany and Spain. Some will only speak French or German or Spanish to introduce themselves to you. Nobody speaks English. You’ll have to help other amateur detective discover who is the murderer by using different languages, translating to others, discussing with them and convincing them that YOU ARE NOT THE MURDERER!

Practica tu español jugando

Todos los viernes a las 11.00 tenemos un espacio de juegos en español para nivel inicial o post-beginners (A2) CEFR. Si quieres mejorar tu pronunciación, fluídez e interacción con otros de una manera lúdica, este es tu espacio.

Desayunos en español

 

Ponte al día sobre temas de actualidad del mundo hispano. Trae a nuestra mesa de desayuno tus ideas y  temas de interés. Practica tu español en un ambiente informal y relajado con una taza de chocolate con churros o café. Únete a nosotros cada viernes a las 10.00

Creative games

→ Every 2^nd Friday of each month at 1pm on GT (Meeting Space)

(45min - All levels) Each month, join the creative and playful atmosphere of various activities offered. You can play games in French, try to solve puzzles, rebus, try out some creative writing games and have fun with the French speaking community at DCU.

Read in French

→ Every 1^st Friday of each month at 1pm on GT (Meeting Space)

(45 min - All levels) Grab a nice cup of tea or coffee, a croissant and your favorite book. This space is to share our favorite books with others. Everybody can read extracts of poetry, lyrics, novel, plays, short stories or their own writing. We will discuss after each reading what we thought, why we liked or disliked each extract.

French conversations: One week, one topic.

→ Every Wednesday at 10am on GT (Garden)

(45min - All levels) Come and speak with others about different topics each week. You’ll have access to videos, songs, documents, quiz, images and photos, websites that you can choose… You can then share your opinion with others about the document you just looked at, compare your results of the quiz…

 German Clinic /Writing Workshop

Willkommen all lovers of the German Language! Come to the German Clinic and get answers to everything you always wanted to know about German but were afraid to ask! Get emergency help for problems with grammatical structures, assignments, writing and oral skills. All levels are welcome. Open consultation, small writing workshops/conversation exercises and language games. Hereinspaziert!
